WHEN “FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE” HAPPENS SOONER THAN YOU EXPECT

WHEN “FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE” HAPPENS SOONER THAN YOU EXPECT

Real talk: nothing will test your marriage more than trauma. In marriage, don’t be surprised if you experience times when the weight of those vows you once said and then tossed aside are tried by fire. My marriage certainly wasn’t and isn’t an...

While this postpartum period hasn’t been perfect While this postpartum period hasn’t been perfect, it has been a much more positive experience than after my first baby. Overall, I’ve had more energy, felt more grounded, and my stress- threshold has been higher. Considering the little sleep I’ve run on most days, that says a lot 🤪.

Going into this season, I took what I could off my plate. Simultaneously, I’ve continued to make sure to fill my plate with foods that provide my body with raw materials it needs to heal & to thrive. Not to mention supporting my body on such a foundational level is the least I can do, considering it has worked so hard to build & birth a baby (then gone on to make milk)!

Apart from God’s grace, nourishing my body with more intention has helped me tremendously and made a significant difference during a higher-stress time.

Some ways I accomplished this:

➡️ Prioritizing protein with each meal/snack
➡️ Using a framework to gauge my goals
➡️ Getting familiar with nutrient profiles of some of my favorite foods
➡️ Playing with balancing out my plate with nutrient profile ratios that work well for my needs

And it wasn’t complicated. I can’t handle complicated this season 😂. That’s why I teamed up with my beautiful friend and fellow practitioner @sophiacrystalwellness for a special project. We both had different goals this season, but both knew we needed to focus on nourishment. So we created a resource for those looking for a simple approach to nourish their bodies with more intention. 💛🙌🏽.

We are in the final stages of editing & super excited to share it with you soon. Be sure to keep an eye out in the coming days for us to do just that! ☀️🎉

After seeing similar patterns in recent session re After seeing similar patterns in recent session reviews, I felt like bringing back this post- it’s an oldie but a goodie.

Trauma, which comes in many forms and is largely dependent on the individual, can act like a gateway when it goes unaddressed. It can set off a cascade of chronic stress. Eventually, that chronic stress wears the physical body down and makes us more susceptible. It impacts the body as a whole; it impacts the person as a whole. If we are only focused on the physical aspect of our health, we are missing pieces of the puzzle. 💛
Never thought it would take seven months after hav Never thought it would take seven months after having my son to step back into 1:1 work, but here we are! Seven is a significant number in my life, so it makes sense 🙌🏽.

If you’re new to this work, feel free to check out previous MBSR posts & highlights where I share more about it.

If you are an established client and have not yet received an email from me, feel free to reach out. Y’all have first dibs on scheduling. I’d be honored to reconnect. You all have been so gracious in giving me space in what turned out to be a rather unexpected sort of postpartum season and I am so grateful for it 💛.

I’ll be sharing a waitlist for @rootedinwellnessco clients soon for scheduling this summer and also into the fall season. I’m excited to work further with our team’s clients to continue connecting some dots in their journeys.

Once these two groups have received updated information, I’ll continue to pray about additional new clients this season. I want to make sure I’m doing my part as a responsible practitioner in supporting those investing in our partnership.

Happy Friday everyone 💛
